Comelit

4G GSM Intercom (GSM1-K) SIM installation guide

The GSM1-K is Comelit's single-button 4G gate intercom, distributed in the UK through Rolling Center: one panel, one entrance, calling the occupants' phones over the mobile network with keypress gate release. It's the simple end of Comelit's range — no video, no app dependency, just a 4G audio intercom that installs in an afternoon.

Which SIM does the Comelit GSM1-K take?

A nano SIM (4FF), voice-capable, active and PIN-free before install. It's an audio intercom — calls and SMS — so no data plan needed, but a data-only IoT SIM won't work.

    Which network?

Any UK network with 4G at the gate. Rural gates and coverage maps disagree often enough that a multi-network SIM is the sensible default: the panel registers on the strongest available network and follows coverage over time.

Spend cap on pay-monthly SIMs before the panel goes live.

    Fitting the SIM

For the installing engineer, power off:

    1. Open the panel; fit the nano SIM in the holder on the board.
    2. Antenna connected before power, mounted with height and clear air.

    First power-up

Allow registration, program the first call number by SMS per the manual's syntax, then test the chain: button, call, keypress, relay, gate.

    If it won't connect

    • No registration: SIM in a phone at the gate position — is 4G actually there on that network?
    • Programming ignored: command syntax, character for character.
    • Call fine, gate static: relay wiring and settings.

    FAQ

Will it survive the network switch-offs? Yes — it's 4G hardware, which is the reason to pick it over old 2G stock.

How many numbers can it call? Up to five in divert sequence per button.

Does it need data? No. Voice and SMS only.
