4G LTE range SIM installation guide

Which SIM does the CAME 4G LTE range take?

A nano SIM (4FF), active and PIN-free. CAME's 4G LTE intercom family is the successor to the old MTM GSM kits — same job, current network — and it swaps the MTM's micro SIM for nano, so don't reuse the old card when upgrading a site.

    Which network?

Any UK network with 4G at the entrance. CAME position this range for sites where cabling is impractical — long drives, remote plots, retrofits — which are the same sites where single-network coverage is least trustworthy. A multi-network SIM registers on the strongest carrier present and moves with coverage over the panel's life.

Spend cap on pay-monthly SIMs before handover.

    Fitting the SIM

For the installing engineer, power down:

    1. Open the panel and fit the nano SIM in the holder on the 4G module.
    2. Check the module is properly seated in its frame — CAME's modular format means a half-seated module fakes a dead unit.
    3. Antenna connected before power.

    First power-up

Allow registration, program the call numbers per the kit guide, and test the chain: button, call, keypress, relay, gate.

    If it won't connect

    • No registration: SIM in a phone at the panel position — confirm 4G is actually there.
    • Intermittent faults: reseat the module before deeper diagnosis.
    • Programming ignored: command syntax exact, SMS centre number present.

    FAQ

Upgrading from MTM GSM — what changes? SIM size (micro to nano), network (2G to 4G), and a future. Wiring knowledge carries over.

Will it outlast the switch-offs? Yes — 4G hardware.

Does CAME supply the SIM? No. Sourced separately, sized nano.

Keep your CAME 4G LTE range online.

LynixSIM multi-network SIMs connect to the strongest UK signal (EE, O2, Vodafone, Three) — no single-network dropouts, no contracts, built for intercoms and gate systems.
