Which SIM does the BFT CellCom+ take?
A standard size SIM (2FF), voice-capable, PIN lock off, registered before install. Micro or nano SIMs need an adapter, which is a callback waiting to happen — order the right size.
Which network?
The CellCom+ is 2G hardware. It needs a network still running 2G at the gate, and those are thinning out. A multi-network SIM gives it every remaining compatible network rather than a single bet, which for a 2G panel is the difference between quietly carrying on and going dark when one operator pulls coverage.
Fitting the SIM
For the installing engineer, power down:
- Open the unit; the SIM holder sits on the main board.
- Fit the standard SIM — it only seats one way — and close the holder.
- Antenna on before power-up, mounted for height and clear air.
First power-up
Allow the module to register on network. Program the call buttons' numbers by SMS per the manual, then test: button press, call lands, keypad press on the phone fires the relay.
If it won't connect
- Never registers: is there still 2G at the gate? Test the SIM in an old phone at the panel position before condemning anything.
- Calls drop: marginal signal. Move the antenna before changing the SIM.
- Programming texts ignored: SMS centre number present on the SIM, syntax exact.
FAQ
Is it worth fitting a CellCom+ today? For existing stock on a strong-2G site, it serves. New supply should be BFT's 4G cellular generation.
What happens at the 2G switch-off? The panel loses service — no 4G hardware inside. Diarise the upgrade.
Does BFT include a SIM? No — always supplied separately.
Keep your BFT CellCom+ online.
LynixSIM multi-network SIMs connect to the strongest UK signal (EE, O2, Vodafone, Three) — no single-network dropouts, no contracts, built for intercoms and gate systems.
